Birthdiva, LLC was founded by Shayla Boyd-Gill, AAHCC. She is a mother of four beautiful children, wife, homeschooling mom, certified Bradley Method® Instructor, birth and postpartum companion (doula), bellydance instructor, and entrepreneur.

Shayla enjoyed her birth experiences so much that she wanted to share the beauty of birth with other women. She found out about the joy of assisting women in birth when she was a student at Florida A & M University. Her friends asked her to attend their births and assist them during labor

She believes that birth is a sacred experience. It is a moment in life that can change you forever. Her goal is to help women experience the joy of birth in a loving way.

Shayla is a member of the International Center for Traditional Childbearing (ICTC), Doulas of North America International (DONA), Mocha Moms, Holistic Moms Network, Bellydancers of Color Association, and the Real Diaper Association.

She graduated from Florida A & M University with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineeering Technology. Although she worked in the construction field for a few years, her feminine intuition consumed her and helped her to realize her life work

Lola Ogungbade is a Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and has practiced in the Washington DC area since 2003. 

Lola has worked with breastfeeding moms from all facets, through her company Breast Start, Inc , and also currently on a busy maternity floor.  She knows and understands the difficulty many women have trying to reach their breastfeeding goals in a society that is very much dominated by formula feeding.

Lola has a passion to see that all Mothers are given all the right Information to make an Informed choice and babies are able to fully breastfeed.

Lola is the Mother of two exclusively beautiful breastfed girls, Lanre and Leke who are 6, and 4 and wife to Toyin.
